About Heart disease in women Center

Heart disease in women CenterSM is the American Heart Association's free 12-week physical activity program for women. The program shows women how to Heart disease in women Center by being physically active, eating healthfully, loving their body, selecting nutritious foods and taking time for themselves.

Heart disease in women Center shows women practical ways to increase their physical activity and reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke. The focus is on helping women build more physical activity into their existing routine, not creating new routines that are hard to fit into the day.

By the end of the 12-week program, members will learn how to:

  • Accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity on most days (5) of the week, which is the U.S. Surgeon General's recommendation for health.
  • Progressively increase the amount of time and intensity of physical activity and keep gaining new health benefits.
  • Learn how to choose the foods that will help reduce risk of heart disease and stroke.
  • Find new opportunities and local resources for physical activity.
  • Learn new strategies to help begin and increase regular physical activity.
